We're on our way to Edisto so I thought I'd post a few pictures I have on my phone from our trip to Captiva.
It was all work for Mark. His conference was all day everyday and then he had to do more work on the computer at night but we were able to pull him away 2 evenings for a quick dip in the beautiful Gulf and to collect some sea shells. We stayed at South Seas Island Resort on the northern tip of Captiva Island. It was a beautiful place with lots of family friendly activities. It's the off season there right now( for good reason because it was SUPER HOT). Jacob and I went to the pool or beach in the mornings and late afternoon and usually found an indoor activity during the middle of the day. He took great naps which were much needed after our previous week, and the resort had a huge children's center with a toddler playroom that he loved. There were many fun pools for us to enjoy and Jacob liked the beach if he was playing in the sand or in the water with Mommy and Daddy. He was not a fan of sitting in the sand and surf with the water coming up and touching him.
We also enjoyed some yummy food and the last evening returned to The Mucky Duck. I cute English Pub right on the beach that's a very popular location to watch the sunset. Jacob's bedtime is much before sunset these days but the beach was still beautiful and dinner was fun.
We also had a fun time riding the resort trolley to and from the pool and the last evening before dinner we took Daddy on a round trip trolley ride to show him all the cool places on the resort.
Wednesday morning before we left we went to the beach to collect some shells and watched two huge beautiful great blue herons walk down the beach and pass right by us. It was amazing to watch them passing by people on their morning stroll, just like humans.
Now we're almost to Edisto for some much needed R&R for all of us. It's exciting to be bringing Jacob here for the first time (out of my belly). We've been coming to Edisto for at least 20 years with my family and I'm excited for Jacob to experience all of the things we enjoy there.
Have a nice weekend!
