The past few days have been quite eventful and Jacob is growing in leaps and bounds! It amazes me when one minute he doesn't seem close to doing something, and then next minute he looks like he's being doing it for weeks. He did this a few weeks ago when he started feeding himself puffs but this has been a big week!
This weekend we celebrated Easter with baby friends on Saturday. We all met at Amy, Matt and Genevieve's house for a BBQ. The babies had a great time playing and we all had delicious food. Saturday afternoon Maggie and her dog Poke arrived and we spent the rest of the day hanging out and playing with them. Easter Sunday was filled with presents from the Easter bunny, eggs, and more playing with Poke. Jacob didn't take good naps on Sunday and by the evening it was obvious he wasn't feeling well. Sunday night Jacob and I slept in the rocking chair all night . . . ugh! So, Monday we went to the doctor and he has another ear infection. We're not sure if it's a new one or residual from the last but this is his 3rd ear infection in 2 months. So, he's on another higher dose of antibiotics in hopes that it clears things up completely this time. We spent Monday and Tuesday at home resting and today Jacob seemed to be feeling better.
Playing ball with Poke
Easter eggs are so much fun, especially the ones that have puffs in them.
Bunny butt! Thank you Aunt Suz for the ABORABLE outfit!
Look Mom, a leaf!
Jacob has been moving (aka scooting on his butt) for the past few weeks but most of the time he moves backwards. In the past couple of days he's been trying to stand up and last night he backed himself up against his exersaucer and stood completely up on his own. He looked at us and smiled but it happened to quickly to get a video. We were convinced that he was going to go directly to walking . . . until tonight!Jacob was playing when we got home from school today and I was sitting on the floor a few feet away eating some crackers. The next thing I knew, the was in my lap reaching for the crackers. I guess I know this kids motivation! So, I put some puffs on the floor a few feet away and he crawled to them. Then I did it again, and he did it again. Once he figured out he could crawl he was on the move. Crawling to Bailey, to a ball, my phone, the computer. He exhausted himself after a few minutes and had to rest and eat dinner. Then he did it again for Daddy when he got home. What a big day!!! Here is a link to another video of Jacob showing off his new skills for Daddy.
So, tonight we're Jacob proofing the house :-) Enjoy the pictures and videos and have a wonderful rest of the week!
