22 Months

Jacob turned 22 months 2 weeks ago and I haven't had time to update the blog since.  My study is in full swing which is exciting and time consuming.  Mark's finally finished going to city commission meetings for a while since the new tree code passed! Good job Mr. City Arborist!  Jacob is Mr. Busy and goes non stop from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to sleep.  He's been waking up earlier and earlier recently, this weekend it was 5:45.  Let's hope that starts going in the other direction again soon, 7:30 was when he used to wake up, that sounds great right now!

Here's more about Jacob at 22 months:
-He likes being at home, he knows when we are driving down our road close to home, and he asks us to go home if we're out.
-He can identify my car and Mark's truck in a parking lot and if you ask him about another car he says "else's car".
-His signing is amazing and he is really interested in learning new signs.  He seems to learn a few new ones each day.  His most recent have to do with zoo animals and Disney.  He learned Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse this weekend from a friend, and the signs for sea turtle( my favorite), giraffe, rhinoceros,  and ostrich.
-He's been taking swimming lessons for 5 weeks now and is doing great.  He now enjoys going and is picking up the skills very well.  He can roll over and float now.  Henry the Hippo (his new friend) goes with us to lessons and watches from the pool ledge.  Best $1.10 I've spent!
-We spent Jacob's 22 month birthday at Disney.  It was our last time for the summer and we had a great day.  We spent the morning at Animal Kingdom riding the safari ride and then the afternoon at Epcot.   I can't wait to go back in the Fall when Jacob is a bit older and it's cooler.
-Jacob still loves to sing and read.  He spends a lot of his time when he's at home playing with his guitar and ukulele and reading books.
-He can count to 10!  How is that possible, he's 22 months old?!  He's been doing this for a few weeks but I just recently go a video.  Today he actually counted to 11, who knows what he'll be doing by the time he's 2!
-He also knows many of his ABCs.  He'll walk around the house saying bits of them in order.  He can say the first few and the second half pretty consistently, it's just the middle he's still working on :-)
-He is still the happiest, funniest, cutest little guy we know and makes up smile continuously!
-He LOVES tomatoes!  He ate 3 pints in 6 days last week and asks me everyday if we can go pick the tomatoes off of our plants.
-His memory is phenomenal.  He shocks us with it daily!
