Edisto 2012

The week after going to Captiva we went to Edisto Island, SC for our annual beach trip with my family.  We met my parents, Grandad, brother, Aunt Susan and Cousin Teddy and introduced Jacob to all of our family vacation traditions. The boys (minus Jacob) golfed 4 days in the 1st Annual Edisto Invitational, we rode bikes, went to the pool, went to the beach, celebrated Father's Day and enjoyed time together as a family.  The weather was gorgeous!  Even cool at times for our thin blood, and after coming from Captiva.  EVERY morning at 6:45 Jacob was standing up in his crib jumping up and down smiling at us.

Our morning view

Ahhhh, so pretty!

Morning on the porch with Beep and Pops

He usually wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00 but he must have not wanted to miss anything on vacation.   He enjoyed his first bike ride, and loved the birds.

BIRDS!

Pops fed the birds and Jacob LOVED it!

We stayed on the bay and every morning we sat on the balcony and watched the birds flying over the water.
Sunrise over the bay.
Jacob learned the sign for bird while we were there and every time he sees a bird he gets a huge smile on his face and does the sign.  Jacob also loved vacation because of all of the fans.  There were fans in every room of both condos we stayed in and between the fans and the birds he was entertained for the whole week.  He loves them!  We're looking forward to taking Jacob back to Edisto for many more years and I can't wait to share with him some of my childhood memories there.
Father's Day golf game.   We took the golfers warm cookies and snapped a quick pictures of all the boys.

How many adults does it take to supervise 1 baby?

Happy boy

Hey, I think I like this!  Mr. Center of attention.  There were 7 of us standing on the beach watching him.

Nice shades!

Jacob and Uncle Henry.  He brought the sunglasses which Jacob found quite entertaining.

Another pair of Uncle Henry's glasses.

Check this out Mom!  The recycling is so fun!

After Edisto, Mark came back to Gainesville and Jacob and I went to Raleigh for a few days to visit Maggie, Michael and Claire.  I'll post about that next.
