Our trip began with a stop in Washington, D.C/ Gaithersburg, MD for Scott & Maureen's wedding. We flew from Gainesville to Atlanta and after our layover in Atlanta we took off for DC and hit birds on take-off. So they turned the plane around and once we were on the ground in Atlanta determined our plane was not flyable without repair. Back in the Atlanta airport they then cancelled our flight. Fortunately Delta was able to out us on another flight just a little later flying into Reagan Airport instead of BWI . . . we made it just in time.
